Your Behavior

Book - Your Behavior"Your Behavior" will help you do these three things:

  • Understand why you do the things you do.
  • Understand why other people do what they do.
  • Change your behavior if you really want to.
"Your Behavior" was written to help readers know themselves better and to move psychology beyond the outdated thinking that now dominates it.  Having first studied engineering, I came into psychology with a strong background in the "hard sciences."  Apparently as a result, after obtaining a B.A. in psychology, I felt that psychology was a "soft science" still in the Middle Ages. That feeling, for the most part, persists to this day.  Given my dissatisfaction, I attempted to develop an improved model of human behavior.  While researching the huge number of theories and models that have been developed concerning what we do, I found that systems theory and Perceptual Control Theory (PCT) expressed what I was trying to achieve. In particular, when I discovered PCT, it became clear that I had found a unifying framework and model that met what I was striving for, and that I could do no better than to share its perspectives with others. The book Your Behavior is the result.

To do these things well, you will learn how your body works to control what you perceive, experience, and do. You will also learn things that are at the cutting edge of psychology—things that some believe mark the beginning of a revolution in the way that we understand human behavior.

You can start your journey of discovery by purchasing "Your Behavior" at: Amazon.com and at: Barnes and Noble.
